Saaremaa Ema
Saaremaa SUMMER
In 2024, I decided to spend the summer driving around Saaremaa island - a place very dear to me for years now - and taking pictures of the places around it and the people who inhabit them. I urged the islanders to invite me to visit them to capture their families or places of business, to tell their stories in photographs.

It soon became apparent that a big part of the stories I was seeing belonged to mothers. I decided to turn this topic into a separate project - "SaaremaaEma". I saw so much beauty, worry, care, and strength in these women of all ages. I hope I can come back next summer and continue the work of capturing their lives.
