A documentary film about the experience of a young woman who, in search of her roots, comes to Saaremaa island for the first time in her life. Iana (34) grew up in Vladivostok. Her Estonian great grandrandmother had told her stories of the magical far-away place where she was born and always felt connected to. Iana has inherited this sense of connection. She recently came to settle in Estonia and is now preparing to go to Saaremaa and meet the island and her Estonian family for the first time. 

“It’s a big step for me. I feel it inside me that if I go there, I will never be able to separate from the island again”, she reflects as she plans the trip.
